The sixth annual International Forum on African Perspectives will be held on Wednesday 7 June 2006 at the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry.

 

The Forum, jointly organised by the African Development Bank and OECD Development Centre will be a meeting point for all professionals with a profound interest in African development. Eminent personalities from African and OECD countries are invited to share their visions and proposals for the Continent with representatives of government, the private sector, civil society and academia.

 

The Forum will have two sessions:

 

> The morning session,“Africa in 2006: Turning Growth into Development”, will begin with an overview of findings from the OECD/AfDB 2006 African Economic Outlook (AEO), an annual update on the economic and political situation in 30 African countries.

 

> The afternoon session will focus on "Promoting and Financing Transport Infrastructure", the special theme of this year’s AEO.

 

We are pleased to announce the participation of the following personalities as panelists: Ángel Gurría, the OECD’s new Secretary-General, Driss Benhima, President Director-General of Royal Air Maroc, Brigitte Girardin, Minister delegate for Co-operation, Development and Francophony, France,  Abdoulaye Koita, Minister of Equipment of Mali, Stefano Manservisi, European Commission Director-General for the Development, Jeffrey Radebe, Minister of Transports of South Africa and Bernard Ziller, Senior Economic Adviser at the European Investment Bank.
